Dealing with relationship problems? Reach out to a hotline in France for free, confidential support

It's normal for every relationship – from dating through to marriage – to face challenges at some point. Some of the most common challenges revolve around communication, infidelity and intimacy. Fortunately, most relatsionship problems are solvable if both people are committed to working through them. If your relationship is facing any of the following, there are 17 helplines in France you can contact for support:

  • You disagree about chores, and this is causing tension
  • You disagree about money and financial affairs
  • Your personalities, cultures or beliefs are very different
  • You feel insecure about how attractive you are to your partner
  • There was infidelity in your relationship
  • While one of you is outgoing and social, the other is introverted and enjoys privacy
  • There is some past trauma or loss that affects your relationship
  • Difficulties communicating your needs, opinions, and beliefs.

If your relationship has become unhealthy, you may be feeling insecure. It can be confusing when the person you love has let you down in some way. Doubt can creep in and make you question your future together. It's normal to feel conflicted. If you're being abused, you may be scared about making decisions in your relationship including leaving your partner.

When you try to tackle relationship problems on your own, you may get stuck. Fortunately, helpine volunteers and counselors in France have been trained in supporting people through relationship troubles, including abuse, and they are available to help you for free.
