Feeling anxious about attending school or work? Contact a hotline in France for support.

We often hear that school and work are among our greatest responsibilities in life. So, when we struggle to get through the day’s tasks, activities, or social and professional interactions, it’s easy to feel like we’ve failed. There are 10 helplins in France to reach out to for free support if you:

  • Often absentee yourself for headaches, flu, injuries and stomach bugs that you don’t really have.
  • Have powerful feelings of anger, defiance, frustration, rebellion and the sense that this is unfair.
  • Experience intense shyness, anxiety and low self-esteem when interacting on tasks with others.
  • Constantly feel tired, lazy, sad or depressed, wishing you weren’t at work or school.
  • Feel so unhappy attending that you regularly find ways to avoid school, classes or work.
  • Have intense school or work related anxiety, stress, fear or worry.
  • Have considered hurting yourself or others to end your daily troubles at work or school.
  • Constantly feel tired, withdrawn and depressed, wishing you could be anywhere but at work or school.

If daily troubles at school or work are affecting your mental wellbeing, you’re not alone. Many people experience social anxiety, with difficulty interacting and fitting into groups. Others have trouble staying organised, comprehending lessons and tasks, or even remaining still and focused when in class or at the office.

Distress at school and work should never get in the way of your ability to learn, perform, interact or thrive. You have the potential to succeed, but you need support. If your concerns and negative feelings persist for weeks, months or longer, it might be time to reach out to a volunteer or counselor at a helpline in France for support.

We’ve partnered with ThroughLine to compile a list of resources for support to address a variety of possible issues.

If you have a negative experience, please know it is not your fault; help is available. Submit a report by following our guidance here, and consider contacting one of the resources above.
