Are you worried about a loved one? Contact a helpline in France for support.

It's normal to be concerned when it seems like someone you care about is not acting like their usual self. You may wonder whether they are struggling with their mental health. 22 helplines are available in France to offer you support and advice. Feel free to reach out if these signs seem familiar:

  • They are seeing or hearing things that are not really there.
  • They are struggling at school or work.
  • They have become more withdrawn.
  • They have started posting worrying content on social media.
  • They seem irritable and their moods are unpredictable.
  • They have started talking in a slow, low voice without much expression.
  • They have told you that they are having trouble sleeping.
  • They seem to have a “I don’t care” attitude.

If you've noticed a change in a loved one's attitude or behavior, it can be scary. It's normal to feel worried and unsure about what you can do to help. Simply being there for your loved one, even in small ways, can be extremely valuable.

If you feel alone in supporting a loved one through a crisis, then reaching out to a helpline volunteer in France could help. A helpline volunteer will offer you trusted advice on how to be there for the person you care about while looking after yourself at the same time.

We’ve partnered with ThroughLine to compile a list of resources for support to address a variety of possible issues.

If you have a negative experience, please know it is not your fault; help is available. Submit a report by following our guidance here, and consider contacting one of the resources above.
